A4doe: ‘Police Report Totally Made Up’

first_imgA4doe: I was surprised to find later that they told people that my arrest was based on acting unruly in front of the President’s house.”-Threatens to sue police officers who assaulted himA4doe, the producer behind the hit protest song ‘Bring Back Our Container,’ has denied police report that he was arrested for exhibiting unruly behavior in front of the President George Weah’s residence. In an exclusive interview with the Daily Observer, A4doe said the Liberia National Police (LNP) Zone 8 police report was fabricated and intended to shield the public about what exactly happened.“The police report is totally made up. The first thing, they lied by saying the arrest was made in front of the President’s house, when it was not. They arrested me at the President’s house junction which is far away from the actual house.“I’m still trying to understand why I was arrested when I did nothing wrong. Kpanto and I, the other guy who raps on the song, were heading towards my house when the police assigned at President’s house junction stopped the bike we were on for what they claimed was a violation.“After the bike rider was arrested, I decided to appeal for his release and that’s how one of the police officers asked me to identify myself. I told him I’m a musician, the producer of the song about the alleged missing money,” A4doe explained his nightmare. The rapper and producer added immediately after his introduction, one of the police officers began insulting him for making the song, something which he told the officer was unnecessary and unprofessional.A4doe also added when the insult intensified, he took his phone and started to record the situation—a move that angered the police officers on guard that night and resulted in the tussle over the phone and his forceful arrest.“When I refused to give the phone in order for them to delete the video, the police officer who started the insult ran to me and started to squeeze my hand to get the phone but he was unable.“Since the pains were becoming unbearable, I give the phone to Kpanto to run with it. Unfortunate they were able to get hold of the phone after it dropped from the artist while they were chasing after him. They deleted the video; however, since I was online, the video was not completely deleted,” A4doe added. After deleting the video, the police officers decided to arrest me for trying to record them and took me to the police station and place me behind bars.According to A4doe, after his release early Sunday morning, after the arrest which took place around 11:30 pm the previous night, the police were unable to give him a charge sheet. The rapper said: “All they told me was to get out and that they don’t have any charge sheet for me. I was surprised to find later that they told people that my arrest was based on acting unruly in front of the President’s house.”Meanwhile, A4doe has threatened to sue the two police officers who assaulted him during his arrest, which has resulted into body pains.“I’m going to sue them for not only hurting my body but violating my civil right. The way they handled me was embarrassing and humiliating. I’m of the strongest conviction this was a planned thing by the officers and intended to disgrace me. The police attitude toward me is unacceptable and I know the President is not aware of this,” he said.Share this:Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)last_img read more

What Happens When Almost Anybody Can Build A Mobile Business App?

first_imgCrowded Market For App Development ToolsDecluttering the back end of app development is a mission on everybody’s mind. Built.io joins a crowded market, including services like Parse (just acquired by Facebook), Kinvey and Cocoafish. But here’s what makes Built.io different, for better or for worse: anybody can use it.(See also The Rise Of Mobile Cloud Services: BaaS Startups Grow Up.)Creating new apps requires a developer’s assistance. But “once the app is built and available, [employees] can log into the [content management system] and upload additional photos, press releases, anything they need to do to update the app without running to their developer or IT department,” Sampat says. The easy-to-use, what-you-see-is-what-you-get visual design is intended to make app upkeep less of a headache for developers. But developers have also historically been gatekeepers. When everyone and everyone at a company can make updates to the company app, what’s to keep the company app from becoming a huge, cluttered mess?Developers In ChargeTo avoid that, Built.io keeps developers in charge. A Built.io feature lets them assign roles and privileges to specific users. For a conference app, for example, the developer might give the organizer permission to update event names and times, but not to alter the structure of an app. Built.io has the potential to make developing a company app so fast and so easy (the beta is free) that everybody in the office may want to create apps for every purpose they can think of. The question yet to be answered is whether non-developers will use their newfound powers for good – or end up helping to churn out useless apps on a weekly basis, adding to the existing glut of unwanted and unused mobile apps.Photo and screenshot via Raw Engineering How to Write a Welcome Email to New Employees? 7 Types of Video that will Make a Massive Impac… Tags:#app development#Backend Development#mobile apps#startups lauren orsini Why You Love Online Quizzes As programming tools become increasingly accessible, it’s not the actual building of a mobile app that’s difficult. It’s the time it takes — and the risk nobody will ever use it. Studies estimates that 26% of mobile apps are used just once, and more than 60% never get downloaded at all.We are well into the age of the disposable mobile app. Now, according to Raw Engineering, the makers of Built.io, we have the fast, easy to use app-development technology to match. Temporary, Disposable AppsToday, many businesses create apps for a variety of occasions, including one-time events like conferences and product announcements. But for most businesses, building these apps is a process that can take several months. At Demo Mobile 2013, Raw Engineering CEO Neha Sampat showcased an app her team built in a week. “The life of an app used by enterprises is sometimes as short as a month,” said Sampat. “If it takes you three to four months to build an app you’re only going to use for a month leading up to an event or a conference or an announcement, there’s no [return on investment] there.” Leveraging Built.io, Sampat said, app development can be almost “plug and play.”“We provide the back end, the building blocks, the basics of the app ready to go – and they can spend their time working on user experience and the app itself.” Related Posts Growing Phone Scams: 5 Tips To Avoidlast_img read more

J&K govt. moves to Jammu from Srinagar

first_img| Photo Credit: PTI  “Darbar move offices have been opened here and we hope to ensure that we bring best possible governance to the people of the state,” Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh said. He said the government will reach out to all sections of people and all areas of the three regions for best possible development on all fronts. The Civil Secretariat and other ‘darbar move’ offices function in Srinagar for six months of summer and in Jammu for the remaining six months of the year. The practice of ‘darbar move’ was started by Maharaja Gulab Singh in 1872 to escape the summer heat of Jammu and the biting winters of Srinagar. In view of the protests and strike by Jammu traders, security has been bolstered and roads leading to the Civil Secretariat have been barricaded. J&K Congress chief Gulam Ahmed Mir led an anti-government rally and staged a sit-in over the alleged failure of the government on all fronts. The deputy chief minister said, “Everybody in a democracy has the right to protest. There is no ban on protests.” The bandh call was given by Chamber of Traders Federation (CTF) to protest toll tax on goods imported from outside the state and to press for public holiday on the birth anniversary of last Dogra ruler Maharaja Hari Singh. While many organisations including Jammu High Court Bar Association, Congress, National Panthers Party and Team Jammu extended support to the strike call, Bari Brahmana Industries Association (BBIA) opposed it. It said “the toll post is working as a tool to stop the import of unaccounted goods by “vested interests“.Closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras at important installations and thoroughfares have been made operational to maintain a close vigil. The winter capital has been given a face-lift ahead of the re-opening of the ‘move offices’The roads around and leading to the Civil Secretariat, the seat of Jammu and Kashmir government, are being renovated with labourers busy cleaning the pathways and painting the roadsides. Government offices and quarters have been renovated and the damaged street lights repaired, officials said. The state government spends crores of rupees every year to shift voluminous records between the two capital cities twice a year, besides paying a huge amount as allowance to several thousand employees who shift base with the government. There have been demands from various quarters to abolish the practice and set up permanent civil secretariats in Jammu and Srinagar.
