(Feb. 9, 2020)–Live racing will resume at Santa Anita with a four-day week on Friday and fans will be greeted by a substantial 20 cent Single Ticket Rainbow Pick Six Jackpot carryover of $229,500.With a carryover from Saturday of $197,331 to shoot at, $140,508 in new money was wagered today, creating a total Jackpot pool of $337,839.With no single ticket winner, there were 294 consolation tickets with six, each worth $255.30.With an eight-race card on Friday, approximate post time for the third race, leg one in the Rainbow Six, is at 2 p.m. PT.First post time Friday is at 1 p.m., with admission gates opening at 11 a.m.There will be special holiday racing on Monday, Presidents’ Day and it’s also Dollar Day at Santa Anita, with one dollar beers, sodas and two dollar hot dogs.Santa Anita will be open for simulcast wagering on Wednesday and Thursday in the Grandstand Paddock Room. A fine ram is auctioned at last year’s event.The Poor Farmers Auction in Ardara has managed to raise another €17,870 – bringing the total money generated in the past nine years to more than €200,000.Everything from sheep to signed jerseys were auctioned at Teague’s Bar in the town this week at what was another hugely-successful and fun event.The auction has now become one of the highlights of the year in Ardara. This year’s theme was ‘Cowboys and Indians’ and many who turned up on the night wore fancy dress, adding to the craic on the night.The €17,870 raised this week was divided between the Killybegs Hospice Suite, Donegal Alzheimer’s branch and cancer Care West.Well done to al who took part on the night.
