BERKELEY – Wildlife officials are hoping to catch a troublesome sea lion that bit a woman’s leg at the Berkeley Marina and nipped another person’s backpack. Only boats and their customers and crews will be allowed on the dock where the attack occurred for several days. Crews have been asked to keep an eye out for the creature. “It is a matter of public safety,” said Ann Hardinger, Berkeley’s harbor master. Attempts to bait the sea lion with salmon and herring haven’t worked, so officials are asking people to keep fish away from the docks until the sea lion relocates. Boaters are also being asked to spray the docks to deter the sea lion. last_img
